HOWEVER, the "Check Control" procedure for retrieving/viewing CC-ID codes saved in the Instrument Cluster (KOMBI) Module (using the B/C buttons on the turn signal stalk) will probably give a good indication of what happened. If you have INPA or a BMW-specific code reader, there is probably a code in the TCM (Transmission Control Module) which would be helpful in diagnosing the problem. The light stayed on for about a minute and then went away. I was getting on the interstate yesterday and put the car into DS as I usually do before needing to accelerate to merge, but when I did heard a "ding", like the sound you get to remind you to put your seat belt on, and then a light that looked like a yellow circle with a exclamation point in the middle came on the dash. You'll need a code reader to read the shadow code that was stored. Took it back and they checked it, realized it was 1 1/2 qt low on fluid. When I first got it back it didn't sound right. I had the tranny fluid flushed a couple weeks ago. Drove for about an hour today, switching from D to DS.no warning light. Turned the engine back on and nothing came up. I turned the car off when I got home, went through the settings with just the battery on and nothing came up.
